CHRISTOPHER SHATLEY JOINS BURKE PRIMARY CARE AS PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Morganton, NC (Dec. 4, 2017) – Christopher Shatley, a Burke County native, PA-C, recently joined Burke Primary Care as a Physician Assistant – Certified to practice a wide variety of specialties in the Morganton-based practice.

Shatley completed his Master’s of Health Science (his Physician Assistant degree) from South College, Knoxville, TN in 2015. Prior to that, he earned his Master’s of Science – Nutrition from Clemson University in 2013 and his Bachelor’s from Concord University in 2011. He graduated from East Burke High School in 2006.

Shatley is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association and the PA’s in Orthopedic Surgery Association.

Shatley’s “C” designation indicates that he is certified by the National Commission of Certification of PAs requiring 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a national recertification exam every 10 years.

Throughout his training, Shatley’s rotations included Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery.

As a member of the Burke Primary Care provider team, Shatley will work closely with Dr. Tim Robinson. He enjoys practicing a wide scope of medicine from pediatrics to general medicine. Shatley recently worked in urgent care and has experience in treating acute injuries including lacerations, sprains and fractures. He is comfortable treating many medical conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and hopes to use his training and knowledge to help patients prevent these conditions.

Shatley is recently married and resides in Morganton with his wife, Landyn and his two dogs. He enjoys spending time with family, reading, mountain biking, hiking and boating. His father owns a local tire business.
