Bill Vaassen, PA-C Biography
Mr. Vaassen is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine's Physician Assistant Program. He worked with Dr. Dellinger for many years in Drexel, North Carolina as a physician assistant. Then he realized his special interest/calling in Occupational Health and began the first privately owned Occupational Health program in Western North Carolina.
Mr. Vaassen joined Burke Primary Care and established Burke Occupational Health as the leading occupational health program serving Burke County businesses.
Vaassen is a charter member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistant (NCAPC) where he has held various offices that included President in 2004. He also served on many committees and continues to serve on the Finance Committee and the Conference Planning Committee.
He is active in the community. Vaassen served as president of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) in the elementary school where his sons attended; founded the Burke County PTO Council; was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer at the local free health clinic and a youth sports coach.
He is married to a nurse and has two children currently in college. He is a Duke fan, and overall sports enthusiast. He is also a great outdoorsman if you count golf and include all the time he spends in the trees.
