Morganton, NC – Burke Primary Care recently named Dr. Deborah Waechter as Partner in the Morganton-based independent family practice.
As a Partner, Waechter participates in the management, oversight and strategic growth of Burke Primary Care. She joins S. Keith Smith, MD, Tim M. Robinson, MD, Martin T. Gessner, MD, G. Michael Gould, DO, John F. Sallstrom, PA-C and Bill G. Vaassen, PA-C as partners.
“Aside from delivering exceptional care to her patients, Dr. Waechter is a strong proponent of Burke Primary Care’s Medical Home philosophy and of women’s health,” said Scott Gallagher, the practice’s Chief Operating Officer. “Additionally, she provides Partner oversight to our recently-opened mammography department.”
Originally from Boone, Waechter received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and achieved her medical degree at East Carolina University School of Medicine.
Waechter completed her residency at Greenville Hospital University Medical Center for Family Medicine where she was Chief Resident from 2001 to 2002. Waechter joined Burke Primary Care in September, 2009 from her family practice in Granite Falls and after practicing medicine in Western North Carolina for more than seven years.
Dr. Waechter and her husband, David, live in Lenoir with their three young children. She enjoys music, traveling, reading, relaxing in the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. The family co-owns and operates Whistler Pig Acres Farm in Lenoir.
