Morganton, NC (May 8, 2017) – Dr. Laura D. Gratton, D.O., joins Burke Primary Care as a Family Practitioner. She is board certified in Family Medicine to provide comprehensive whole-person care to all ages of the families of Burke County.
A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Dr. Gratton will team with Dr. Deborah Davis and Burke Primary Care’s roster of providers. Dr. Gratton will begin seeing Burke Primary Care patients in mid-June.
Dr. Gratton earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in 2008. She was a 2001 Cum Laude graduate from Luther College (Decorah, Iowa) where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology.
Additionally, Dr. Gratton is the recipient of the Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians award, the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, and was recognized for Excellence in OB/Gyn coursework and clinical rotations during medical school.
Most recently, Dr. Gratton was the Rural Regional Medical Director at Mosaic Medical in Prineville, OR, where she led clinical aspects of three rural clinic sites and coordinated services with healthcare providers and vendors.
Throughout her medical career, Dr. Gratton has been extraordinarily active in community and athletic affairs where she has supported local organizations in creating safe, health and drug-free communities, provided medical coverage for civic events and fund-raisers, supplied on-field medical coverage for multiple collegiate sports events, coordinated city-wide World Aids Day events and participated in several Mission Trips to provide patient care. She served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania where she taught biology and chemistry at a rural school and learned to speak Swahili.
She is married to Paul Gratton. They have 3 young children, enjoy music, arts, local food and being together outdoors.
