Burke Primary Care has met all criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization, the COLA organization announced recently.
COLA accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations,” said Scott Gallagher, Chief Operating Officer for the Morganton-based independent family practice. “Recognized medical laboratories must demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.”
COLA is a nonprofit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement and accreditation. The Maryland-based organization is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine.
“Our goal in the Burke Primary Care labs is to offer a vast menu of in-house testing, “said Tina Grindstaff, MT and BPC Lab Supervisor. “This offers convenience for the patients and great patient care.
“We also offer our patients excellence in testing by employing certified lab technicians,” she said.
Burke Primary Care is the region’s largest and oldest primary care independent practice. Locally owned, it is a comprehensive family practice dedicated to high-quality, patient-focused healthcare.
